Are you getting married soon and feel overwhelmed by the never-ending list of things you need to do before the big day? Are you worried about the cost to plan it or hire a professional planner? You aren't alone.

Planning a wedding can be very overwhelming and lots of brides can feel very stressed out trying to make everything work, especially when money is tight. Many brides choose to take the planning into their own hands because not everyone can afford to hire a planner. Planning a wedding yourself allows you to be creative and in power.

So how can you plan a wedding yourself and save yourself from dropping lots of money? Here are 5 ways to help.

  1.  Leverage Personal Relationships and Keep Business Local

If you have connections with individuals who could do you a favor, then use that to your advantage! Most of the time, these individuals are more than happy to help. Maybe you know someone that bakes and can help out with Dessert? Maybe you know a friend who is good with photography? Anything! Think of people who you could hire for cheap and it would be even more meaningful to have a friend be apart of your special day.

2. Online organization Platform

An online platform that allows you to organize all of your information in one place. The best part is, you can access this information anywhere and you can allow your whole wedding team to check out the progress or take some of the work load. No more spreadsheets and endless notepads, you can simply do everything you need in this one space.

An online wedding planner will save you and your team so much money and time and it's perfect for individuals who just want to take things into their own hands. You will be able to quickly and confidently put in your information, book venues, visualize your decorations, send out invitations, and so much more. Its a place where you can see everything you need to without relying on someone else to organize everything for you.

3. Explore All Your Lodging Options

Be sure to check out all your options, and don't be afraid of staying local! It makes it easier for your guests as well.

4. Look for Alternatives to Onsite Catering

Onsite catering can be very expensive, so looking into other options can be very important.

5. Buy – or Make – Your Own Alcohol

Alcohol can be another big cost. Why not buy the alcohol yourself? It would save you money in the long run. Maybe you have a bartender friend as well. Anything would help.
